Young Women’s Outreach Project
The Young Women’s Outreach Project works with young women and young mothers, supporting and guiding them through crises in their lives.
As a result of Building Brighter Futures Funding, their Home Educated Project will offer individually tailored and specialist support to young women who are home educated, giving them some time and a space where they can learn, socialise and grow.
Together with their workers from the charity, young women will develop a plan to overcome the barriers they face. The groups will focus on personal development to begin with, looking at building and self-esteem, team building and communication skills. They will then build on their sense of purpose, learning new skills such as crafts, baking, gardening and creative writing.
Alongside this they will ensure young women have the opportunity to utilise knowledge and skills gained from formal education such as maths by preparing budgets when planning sessions, IT skills when identifying resources, and English by writing shopping lists.
