Diamond Centre for Disabled People

Leading metal recycler, EMR Mitcham (based on Ellis Road) has joined forces with the Diamond Centre for Disabled People, a registered charity that provides young people with disabilities with therapeutic time with horses.

The new partnership will provide therapeutic, sensory and physical support for 150 young people over the next two years. EMR Mitcham’s donation was made through its Young Futures Reimagined programme - an initiative to help young people build bright futures.

Supporting 350 riders a week, the Diamond Centre for Disabled People provides unique facilities to enable disabled people to improve their capabilities, by offering contact with horses, boosting their confidence and reducing the chances of social isolation.

“Opportunities to engage in physical activities are often hard for young people to come by, yet they are a vital part of their development.“Steve and the team at the Diamond Centre for Disabled People are passionate about ensuring that as many young people as possible have this opportunity. We cannot wait to see what difference this partnership makes.”

Says Sam Taylor, Commerical Manager at EMR Mitcham.
