Carers in Bedfordshire
Having previously offered support in 2021, EMR Bedford, has demonstrated its continued commitment to local charity, Carers in Bedfordshire.
Carers in Bedfordshire offer support to anyone who is caring for a friend or family member who is ill, disabled or has mental health or addiction problems. EMR Bedford will support Carers in Bedfordshire in the work they do with young carers, offering activities and metal health support to help them to deal with the pressures of their caring responsibilities.
A donation offered by EMR Bedford will enable 50 young people between the ages of 8 and 17 to take a much-needed break from their caring responsibilities. Carers in Bedfordshire will use funds to facilitate two trips to local attractions.
“We are very grateful to EMR. The donation will benefit young carers’ allowing them to take part in our planned activities at soft play for the younger carers and at an obstacle course recreation centre for the older children. It’s a chance for them to blow off steam, be children again and meet up with other young carers who understand what each other is going through in a fun environment.”
